Silver Mountain Interiors
One of my favorite interior designers in Park City is Silver Mountain Interiors. Owner, Mario Ferreira, is well known and respected in the Park City area and has staged and designed many of the high-end properties creating trend-setting home spaces and captivating experiences into every detail. I had a chance to interview him to gain some insights of his world such as what colors are trending and his favorite designer.
How long have you been in the business? I have been in this business for 20 years
What do you enjoy about your job? I love the fact that I get to meet some very interesting people from all over the globe. I also enjoy the design progress, watching our designer and clients vision come to fruition is always a beautiful and unique experience.
How long have you been in Park City? We just celebrated our 19th year on July 1st, we’re into our 20th year. We love this town.
Why is staging a home so important? Most people cannot envision how a home feels when it’s completely empty. Some homes feel very large and confusing to a lot of people. Even if we stage a few rooms in the home, it helps, most people are able to carry that vision throughout the home.
What colors are in for Fall? Although there are many vibrant colors that tend to be trendy , we usually specify a more warm neutral wall color (cream, taupe, camel and cognac ) and tend to blend well with a wide variety of accent color, such as pillows, area rugs, accessories or even lamps.
Who are some of your favorite designers and why? William Hodgens, he was a very talented and classic designer. He loved traditional/transitional look throughout the home. I actually knew William very well, he was a private person, but loved to be around friends. I will always remember him, he was very talented, well respected in our (design) community. William worked with many prominent families throughout the US and Europe.
Any other trends you are seeing lately that you love? Kitchens are becoming more and more the focal point of the home. It’s been a couple years now, it’s becoming a very important part of the home. I hear this is where most guest congregate. Also, in the last few years, we have had some clients who are asking about a theater rooms. This is something I haven’t heard in a few years.
